The Event Management Committee of the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Authority (FANR) of the UAE listened to the latest updates on the four units of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNNP).

According to FANR, the briefing focused on the FANR's
regulatory oversight and inspection plan for Baraka Nuclear Power Plant Units 1
and 2, as well as the update of the inspection and testing plan for Unit 2 that
was approved for use in March 2021, according to a FANR press release on
Sunday.

inspectors at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and deploying other inspectors to
ensure the testing process is carried out in accordance with legal

Degradation and Ageing Program (CODAP) of the Organization for Economic
Co-operation and Development's Nuclear Energy Agency. The project is an event
database used to collect operating information from nuclear power plants to

and research and development plans.
The board of directors discussed the signing and renewal of several cooperation agreements with local and international stakeholders. This includes the extension of the cooperation agreement between FANR and the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP).

The agreement is based on the long-term cooperation started
in 2013 and aims to further strengthen cooperation in the field of radiation
protection activities. The cooperation will take place through joint technical
meetings, joint research and development projects, scientific visits, and
educational events.
FANR's management committee approved a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Port, Customs, and Free Zone Company-Dubai Government
Planning and Development Department (Trakhees). This partnership provides a
framework for FANR to obtain information about the events management of companies based in and/or operating in Dubai
through the Trakhees Commercial Licensing System, which is supervised and
supervised by FANR.
